Tuberculosis, or TB, is still one of the major causes of preventable death in the world. TB is an infectious disease caused by TB bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) and most often affects the lungs. TB infection can cause serious damage to the lungs and other organs.
Proper hand hygiene can protect people from diseases such as measles, chicken pox
Hand hygiene is the act of cleaning ones hand with the use of water or anther liquid plus soap for the purpose of removing germs, soils, dirt and other microorganisms.
The main purpose of hand hygiene is to cleanse the hand pathogens and chemicals can cause personal harm or diseases. Proper hand hygiene can protect people from diseases such as measles, chicken pox, influenza, tuberculosis, stomach flu etc.
Method of hand washing
The hands should e robbed together with digit s interlocking. If there is debris under finger nails, a bristle brush may be used to remove it. Rinse under a running tap/water and wipe dry with a clean towel.
When o Wash Hands:
Before eating and cooking or before handling any food
After using the bathroom
After cleaning around the house
After touching animals including family pets
Before and after visiting or taking care of a sick friend or relatives
After blowing ones nose, coughing or sneezing
After being outside, eg: playing, gardening, exercising, working, strolling etc
After touching anybody’s fluid or changing diapers
Do not under estimate the power of hand washing. Few seconds of proper hand hygiene could save you several amount of money and time you could have spent receiving treatment. So ensure to keep your hands clean.
